For my second ILP project I created a Prezi. The Prezi was on a kindergarten standard, standard SS.K.E.1.1 which was about different jobs people do and the tools and equipment they need to do their job. I have never created a presentation using Prezi before, so this site was totally new to me! I did a very simple presentation because it is directed for the viewing by Kindergarteners. I really enjoyed using Prezi, it was quick, easy and it really made a nice presentation. I will definitely be using Prezi again in the future.

Post 10- LAST ONE WOO HOO!!
I will definitely use data collection tools such as Survey monkey and Edmodo. These were super useful websites that we used throughout the semester to get data collected easily and quickly. Survey Monkey was great, I used it in high school and it was always super successful in getting answers quickly. Edmodo is a great tool when you need students answers only because only your class with your group code can see the survey. Survey monkey is nice if you needed either student OR parent responses. A link can be sent out and easily emailed or posted through an online website; Edmodo, Blackboard, etc.
Topics I found most interesting revolved a lot around the creating a website project. First we all had to post a picture of another teachers website we found which was super cool to see all the different ways to create a website. Another topic I found super interesting is when we had to do a Web 2.0 tool and post the link on our blog. And lastly I thought the powerpoint interaction assignment was super awesome too. To be able to see all the different things my classmates created and then posted on their blog for us all to see. I thought all these 3 topics were super cool because it allowed me to see what kind of teacher everyone is going to be one day. It also allowed me to watch all my classmates grow; with technology, as people and also through our future professional career.
The next thing I would like to learn technology related is Blackboard. I'd like to learn Blackboard because being an FSU student I literally LIVE through Blackboard. I couldn't survive college without it, and it perfectly puts everything in one place. Organized by class and everything you will need for the semester is on this page. I think as a teacher I would LOVE to know how to make a Blackboard and make it useful for my class. I really enjoy having it as a student, so when I'm a teacher I want my students to see how important it was to me when I was a student and why it should be important to them in the long run.
I will achieve my future technology goals by always trying. I will learn to have patience when it comes to technology and just learn to accept that not everything will be easy and I will always have to try. To achieve it I will lookup Youtube videos when I need to know step-by-step how to do something technology wise. Or look it up and hopefully find it on teacher blogs, on possibly on Pinterest. I will also work to find stuff out through my colleagues and past classmates (all of you) and also through myself working hard to achieve my technology goals!
I really enjoyed having class with all of you, I hope you end up being a great teacher who uses technology perfectly in your classroom! :)

Blog post 9
The Flipped classroom refers to when students watch videos and video lectures at home before class and then during class time they work on assignments, projects and also have discussions. Chapter 10 discusses some ways to do this by discussion forums, chat programs, wikis, blogs, podcasts. These are some good resources to keep kids involved while at home so they can have the "Flipped classroom" while they're at home and also in school.I dont think it would be very effective though because odds are students are not going to actually watch the videos at home because when they go home that is supposed to be their time to relax and be home from school.

That is a website you can go to for teacher professional development. It helps teachers grow professionally through summer workshops, seminars, teaching teachers new projects and they also have full year professional development. I think this is a super awesome website with many different ways for teachers to grow professionally. It allows tons of opportunity for teachers!
I learned a lot of new skills through the Powerpoint interaction assignment. Such as how to make a jeopardy game which was very fun and also kind of tricky to learn. What I really enjoy about it is how fun is it for kids to learn from. I remember being a elementary student myself, I always enjoyed the jeopardy competition when you divide up the classroom. I would actually learn all while having a super fun time! I will definitely be using all the things I learned in this assignment in the future, such as how to make jeopardy games and I will be using those all the time when I am a future teacher.

Chapter 12 refers to open content is the biggest advancement and holds the biggest promise. I think this because it uses social media to help integrate things. This could be utilized by kids because now social media is very predominant in young people now a day and using technology and social media as a form of learning would really reach students and allow them to grow in ways familiar to them.
Digital divide is the gap between demographics and regions and have access to technology that do or don't have limited access. I am on the side of the divide that doesn't have limited access to technology. I think it will affect my classroom because my class will be split about what side of the divide they're on and it will be challenging to help students on both sides and split time evenly.
I learned a lot of new skills by working on my Powerpoint presentation. Before this class I had only done the very basic powerpoint skills; adding slides and typing on them. What I liked was getting to learn totally new things that are so helpful to me and my future career. I will use it in my future career to teach my class certain lessons and also do powerpoints with substitutes so my class can hear my voice while listening to the presentation even though I am absent and the class is listening to a substitute.

Bloom's taxonomy has 6 different levels; knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation. If my class was reading a book about Goldie Locks and the Three Bears we could follow the order of Bloom's taxonomy. For knowledge I would ask them, "Who was the main character in the story?" and have them make a Powerpoint presentation all about the main character in the story. For comprehension, I would ask them "What was the main idea of the story? What was going on?" and I would probably have a presentation for them about main idea and then incorporating the main idea of our particular assignment was. For application I would ask my class, "What would you ask the main characters in an interview?" and maybe have them conduct their own interview with the main character and make up what they would have them say. And possibly turn it into a powerpoint and record their voice over it such as it would be in an actual interview. For analysis I would ask them, "How does this story relate to you?" For synthesis I would ask, "What would you do to create a different story" And for evaluation I would ask my class, "What choices would you of made if you were in the story?" Hopefully by following the bloom's taxonomy way it would help my class understand the story Goldie Locks a lot better and hopefully all the other stories. It would give them something exact to follow and questions that would help them dig deeper into the book.
Adaptive technologies are very important in helping students with disabilities. I have never met anyone personally who had to use adaptive technology but by reading chapter 4 I got a way better understanding of how it can help students with disabilities. Low-Tech Adaptations are usually built into the operating system. Some examples are Sticky keys, MouseKeys, keyboard labels and a keyboard. Some Alternative Output Devices can be screen magnification software or screen readers. Students with disabilities need the same opportunities as students without disabilities they just have different needs and adaptations to get there!
The webpage design was my favorite assignment thus far. It was super fun and easy to do! I really think that I will use it in the future and this assignment allowed me to play around with weebly and get to know the website! I really enjoyed learning the ways to make a website. Next time I will work on it longer and have actual class pictures and pictures of my class' work (when I actually have a class) It will however be really helpful in my professional career.

ILP "Design" - Edmodo
I made an Edmodo page for a Kindergarten class. I included a quiz, one assignment, two notes and two polls for my class to take. It was really cool to see how Edmodo worked and how simple it really was. Making the quiz took me 5 minutes to generate and put the link up. Also having an assignment link to have my students submit to was really excellent. I could lock the assignment and it automatically viewable in gradebook. When I used edmodo as a student I always imagined how difficult it must of been, but now trying it myself made me really understand how much I will use Edmodo as a teacher.
Go check out my Edmodo and take the quiz or the poll!

How to Make your Slides More Memorable? from SketchBubble
What I like about this powerpoint is the great examples they gave on how to make it more memorable. I also found it interesting that the audience will mostly remember the Introduction and Conclusion of the presentation. This presentation itself was memorable, and also taught me how to make my future presentations memorable

#6- PB works and Class pages
When I found the Stevenson school put class pages on their website I was very excited! You can see publicly their weekly schedule, resources they use, a picture gallery of their students and also their classroom news. I looked into the Kindergarten page and that's where I saw all of this information. There was a lot of information shown publicly, which I was actually surprised by. Especially the pictures of students in the class, and their class schedule was shown. I just thought that one would be public and the other would not. It was also nice to get an idea of what students at this school were learning on a weekly basis.
I will use technology to further my professional career in many ways. I will use it to keep track of my students grades keep everything up to date. I will also keep parents involved through online resources and allowing them to watch their child grow as the year goes on. Such as the class page I wrote about in the first paragraph. It would be awesome if parents could stay up-to-date with their child. If they ever had a question they could just log right on and look. This would further my career by helping me basically build a portfolio of my classroom and also by helping parent's stay informed. Using technology will keep me more organized and it will help me help my students and further my potential as an educator!
I learned a lot of new skills during this weeks project. Using PB works was very different and also very challenging. It kept deleting things and I was typing them, it wouldn't allow me to save certain images and things I had brought in from other sources. I also didn't like how you couldn't move the pages unless they were in a file because that makes it difficult to put it in the order you're wanting it in. I could learn a lot from this assignment like not rushing it last time and taking time to research how to use the program PB works. I also didn't like how we were in groups of 4 (not that I don't love my group) it's just really difficult to get 4 people to be able to meet up and work on this project together. I also thought the program was really difficult to work. I'm not sure if I will use this program as a teacher because of the amount of time I had to put into it for it only to still be confusing. (Especially to young elementary students-the grades I hope to be teaching) However, if I needed to use it again I'd probably give it another chance.

5- Web 2.0, Dojo and Concept Mapping
Web 2.0 are more sophisticated than Web 1.0. *****Every time I try to listen to the podcast it cuts off right after it says 2.0****** Some periphery equipment we could use in the classroom are data projectors, electronic whiteboards, scanners, cloud storage and touch screens. Some network equipment we could use are resource sharing and monitoring students activity. Some computer equipment we could use are hardware, trackball, joystick, stylus, LCD screens, pixel and resolution.
A new Web 2.0 tool that I have been hearing a lot of and have personally seen in action is Class Dojo. This is a classroom management tool that helps teachers keep students on track. This is a website that teachers can interact with the parents of their students. It allows parents to track the students progress and how they are doing as well as behavior goes. The website has tips for teachers, letter formats that teachers can follow. This is also a website that allows teachers to track student progress, encourage students and also easily interact with parents. You can interact with parents through email on Dojo, instant message, post photos so the parents can see and also post announcements.
Class Dojo is also an online website so there is no need to download any software. This makes it super easy to access for parents because they don't have to download anything to their computer they can just log on and see their child's progress. You can also pull up Dojo on a class smart board (electronic whiteboard) and the students can see how their classmates are doing so they will want to do better. It's a great way to keep students motivated and also keep parents involved. Here's a link so you can check it out! https://www.classdojo.com/#LearnMore
I learned quite a bit from concept mapping. I learned how easily it makes things when you turn information into a concept map. Students will have an easier time viewing the information you are trying to show them. I also see how often concept mapping is used, even in magazines when doing those silly quizzes. The concept mapping project has taught me, once again, how to use an online program that I have never heard of will be greatly help me as a teacher in the future!

4- Standards and the Internet
MAFS.K.CC.1.1- Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Classification tool: Educational Games
I would use this online program to teach the Standard MAFS.K.CC.1.1 to kindergarteners to teach them to count by ones and tens until they reach 100. The game is "Whack-A-Mole," and how you play is you start out by hitting the mole with the number 1. After this you will hit number 2, then 3, and so on until you reach 100. To teach them to count by tens, in the upper left corner you can change the "Steps of" from 1 to 10's and it will go by tens. For example; your students would hit 10, followed by 20, then 30 and so on. This is a fun way to teach Kindergarteners to count to 100!
While listening to the podcast I realized I follow the ABCDT method. I am always checking the credibility of the author and the types of websites that I am going on. Especially when I am trying to find "academic and credible" sources I pay close attention to what type of website I am on and the author's credibility. Mentioned in the podcast was to check on the stability and the design of the website, which I don't normally do. I've never really looked to see if the design of the website is a certain way.
The web hunt assignment taught me just how limitless the internet is. I never really had a problem finding any of the questions that I had to. When I had to do the virtual tour of Africa, I felt like I was actually on a tour in Africa. The internet has so many resources that I had no idea existed and I really realized that during the web hunt challenge. Now, here are some questions for you my fellow classmates..
1. You want to teach your students about poems for valentine's day. Have them find a website with a valentine's day poem.
2. You want to find a new website to post your students grades on, where they can also turn in assignments. Find it!
GOODLUCK :)

Blog #3
Looking at the ELA technology standards, I would feel comfortable teaching some of these. I would be comfortable teaching W/WHST.8 "Use Multiple Sources," which is where you gather information, avoid plagiarism all while seeing how credible and accurate each sources is. I'd also feel comfortable teaching SL.2 "Integrate and Evaluate," which is where you integrate and evaluate different forms of media such as orally, visually and qualitatively. Lastly, I also think I'd be good at teaching standard W/WHST.2 "Write to explain/inform," I think i'd be good at showing them how to write this way including graphics, figures and showing them the proper way to format.
After reading chapter 9 there are some applications/softwares that I would use with my students. I would use a LMS (Learning Management system) such as Moodle, to keep my classroom organized on an online space. I would use blogs, I'd probably have my students write a blog for my class and also have them read other people's blogs to put their feedback into. I would also use WIKI in my classroom, Wikipedia is a place with endless amounts of information. It is a place that students can really broaden what they've learned and allow themselves to learn a ton of new information. Depending on what grade I teach would also affect what application and softwares I use in my classrooms. For example, If I teach Kindergartener's I would only use Pearson, Dojo and other smaller applications for them to use. On the other hand, if I was teaching high schooler's I would use Moodle, Blackboard, Blogs, Wiki and social media. I would also need to address and talk about digital citizenship concepts in my classroom. Digital citizenship is a really important factor when using the internet and my students need to know the proper way to use it. I need to teach students how to comport themselves with civility while acting within a community, communicate clearly and precisely without rudeness or inappropriate interaction and also to protect their personal identities and those of others.
I have acquired a ton of new Word skills through working on the Newsletter for my class. I learned how to use Columns in a word document, and also how to use word art. I also learned how to put an email hyperlink in my letter so teachers would have a really easy way to contact me through this newsletter. I like how good it looks when you finish it, but I don't like how much time and effort you have to put into getting it perfect. It is actually a lot tricker than it looks to get done. I learned to have a lot of patience when creating things for my classroom. I also learned that a monthly newsletter is really important to keep families informed of what is going on in the classroom each month.

#2- Microsoft Word, Twitter and Copyright
I have used Microsoft word multiple times as a student. Mostly when I am writing a paper and am required to write in MLA or APA format. I have also used Microsoft Word multiple times when I am taking notes on my computer in class. I always use the "Word Notebook Layout" to take all my notes in for class! It's really helpful because of how the layout is, it makes it really easy to find all of my notes. I have also seen my teachers use it quite often while in the classroom. They use it to present our notes, when they give us instructions on assignments, and also for our syllabus. Usually when a teacher needs to relay typed information to students, it is through a Microsoft Word document.
I haven't really had that many experiences with copyright and fair use materials. The only time I've ever really had to worry about it is when I am writing a paper and need to cite certain things. However, I know that when I become a teacher those things will become way more relevant and I will need to know all the rules about it. I know I will need to use it when it comes to giving print out's and worksheets to the class for the assignments and classroom activities.
I had always used Twitter for my own personal thoughts and basically for fun. I had never really realized the personal learning networks that it had. Seriously it's amazing!!! The educators accounts you can follow and learn from are basically endless. Twitter is much more than a "social media" output it is something you can learn and grow from as a teacher. Twitter will help me in my future career because I can learn from other teachers and it can help me in my own classroom. I now view Twitter as a totally different form of community and a learning opportunity.

#1- Computers in the Classroom
There are plenty of ways that technology has enhanced the classroom experience. Teachers can use computers to come up with their lesson plans and instruction design. By doing these two things online you can broaden your horizons and you are basically limitless. As for the students learning, technology can also help you learn. Technology can foster creativity in students, it can assess competency and it can also foster communication and collaboration. I definitely agree that technology can help the teaching and also the learning process if used correctly. The internet can do incredible things if you know the correct strategies to help the learning process.
One standard that gladdens my heart is under the ISTE standards for teachers. It's actually the first one, Facilitate and inspire student learning and creativity. I love this standard because you are allowing students to be kids and allowing them to follow their creative instinct and be interested in things. The technology allows them to learn all about what they are curious in, and I love it. You're allowing students to be creative, all while helping them do it. One ISTE standard that seems a little outside your current skill set is number 3, to Model digital age work and learning. It seems a little outside my skill set because I know the basics about computers but not enough to teach others about it. I wouldn't feel comfortable to use all the different ways of technology to communicate with parents or anything else. I'd need some more knowledge about it, but I'm open to learn!
I do agree with the term "Digital Native" to describe our youth. Being a digital native means that you need technology to learn, unlike the traditional ways that we used to learn. Being a student, I can definitely see the difference between the digital native and the digital immigrants. Some of my older professors don't know how to get powerpoint on their projector or know how to turn on the volume when they play videos in class. Something that if you were to ask a digital native how to do, they could probably figure it out in less than 5 minutes. It does impact the learning experience on students because their attention starts veering towards other things when it takes awhile for our professor to get the technology to start working. I am anticipating that when I'm a teacher I might be current on the technology, but my students will always be ahead of me. Technology will continue to grow and students will always be ahead of their teachers!

0- My first attempt at blogging
My prior experiences using technology wouldn't include all that much. For starters my major phone of technology that I've mastered is my phone, and iPhone. I understand that pretty much to a T, but it usually doesn't help me educationally. On the other hand I have my Macbook, which I don't really know all that much about. I understand the basics, but that is where my expertise ends. I can do basic things in Word, and make a very basic Powerpoint but nothing more than that. I've never really had to do it. Also I haven't used a Dell computer in quite some time, so having two different computers to learn on is also challenging.
I hope to gain a lot of new knowledge from taking this course. I hope it will teach me about little tips and tricks to softwares that I will need to familiarize myself with. I would like to learn more about Word, Powerpoint, Excel and also how to use special technology required in the classrooms that I will hopefully be teaching in one day. Such as, a Smart board, the Doc camera and also how to make your computer screen have one thing on it while the projector shows a different display to your classroom. I hope this class will make it easier for me to keep up with the growing need for technology in my daily life and also in the classroom.
While taking the quiz I learned a little bit more about my personal learning style. I received a 7 in the first category, which is on the ACT side. ACT stands for active learners, since I fell on a 7 that means I have a moderate preference for that dimension. Some helpful tips the website gave me were to stop periodically and review what I've read, work with others, and I'll retain information better if I find ways to do something with it. The next category I fell on a 1, leaning towards the side of SEN. SEN stands for sensing learner, and since I fell on a 1 I'm fairy well balanced for this dimension. Some facts the website gave for sensing learners were that we like to learn facts, we tend to be patient with detail, and we tend to be more practical. Some ways to help myself as a sensing learner we can ask our teacher for specific examples, and find out how concepts apply in practice. The third category was VIS and I scored a 9 in this category. VIS stands for visual learner and a 9 means that I have a very strong preference for that dimension. It said visual learners remember what they see best such as pictures, maps, etc. The website did say some ways that I could help myself as a visual learner are to find visuals to help myself learn, and also color code my notes to make it stand out. Lastly, I fell under GLO with a number 1. GLO stands for global learner and since I only made a 1 I well balanced for this dimension. Global learners need to see the bigger picture of something before I can master the details. It's hint was to skim the whole chapter before reading the whole thing so I could get a sense of what I was about to read about to help myself grasp the bigger picture.
