#6- PB works and Class pages

When I found the Stevenson school put class pages on their website I was very excited! You can see publicly their weekly schedule, resources they use, a picture gallery of their students and also their classroom news. I looked into the Kindergarten page and that's where I saw all of this information. There was a lot of information shown publicly, which I was actually surprised by. Especially the pictures of students in the class, and their class schedule was shown. I just thought that one would be public and the other would not. It was also nice to get an idea of what students at this school were learning on a weekly basis.

I will use technology to further my professional career in many ways. I will use it to keep track of my students grades keep everything up to date. I will also keep parents involved through online resources and allowing them to watch their child grow as the year goes on. Such as the class page I wrote about in the first paragraph. It would be awesome if parents could stay up-to-date with their child. If they ever had a question they could just log right on and look. This would further my career by helping me basically build a portfolio of my classroom and also by helping parent's stay informed. Using technology will keep me more organized and it will help me help my students and further my potential as an educator!

I learned a lot of new skills during this weeks project. Using PB works was very different and also very challenging. It kept deleting things and I was typing them, it wouldn't allow me to save certain images and things I had brought in from other sources. I also didn't like how you couldn't move the pages unless they were in a file because that makes it difficult to put it in the order you're wanting it in. I could learn a lot from this assignment like not rushing it last time and taking time to research how to use the program PB works. I also didn't like how we were in groups of 4 (not that I don't love my group) it's just really difficult to get 4 people to be able to meet up and work on this project together. I also thought the program was really difficult to work. I'm not sure if I will use this program as a teacher because of the amount of time I had to put into it for it only to still be confusing. (Especially to young elementary students-the grades I hope to be teaching) However, if I needed to use it again I'd probably give it another chance.
