When I found the Stevenson school put class pages on their website I was very excited! You can see publicly their weekly schedule, resources they use, a picture gallery of their students and also their classroom news. I looked into the Kindergarten page and that's where I saw all of this information. There was a lot of information shown publicly, which I was actually surprised by. Especially the pictures of students in the class, and their class schedule was shown. I just thought that one would be public and the other would not. It was also nice to get an idea of what students at this school were learning on a weekly basis.
I will use technology to further my professional career in many ways. I will use it to keep track of my students grades keep everything up to date. I will also keep parents involved through online resources and allowing them to watch their child grow as the year goes on. Such as the class page I wrote about in the first paragraph. It would be awesome if parents could stay up-to-date with their child. If they ever had a question they could just log right on and look. This would further my career by helping me basically build a portfolio of my classroom and also by helping parent's stay informed. Using technology will keep me more organized and it will help me help my students and further my potential as an educator!
I learned a lot of new skills during this weeks project. Using PB works was very different and also very challenging. It kept deleting things and I was typing them, it wouldn't allow me to save certain images and things I had brought in from other sources. I also didn't like how you couldn't move the pages unless they were in a file because that makes it difficult to put it in the order you're wanting it in. I could learn a lot from this assignment like not rushing it last time and taking time to research how to use the program PB works. I also didn't like how we were in groups of 4 (not that I don't love my group) it's just really difficult to get 4 people to be able to meet up and work on this project together. I also thought the program was really difficult to work. I'm not sure if I will use this program as a teacher because of the amount of time I had to put into it for it only to still be confusing. (Especially to young elementary students-the grades I hope to be teaching) However, if I needed to use it again I'd probably give it another chance.

5- Web 2.0, Dojo and Concept Mapping
Web 2.0 are more sophisticated than Web 1.0. *****Every time I try to listen to the podcast it cuts off right after it says 2.0****** Some periphery equipment we could use in the classroom are data projectors, electronic whiteboards, scanners, cloud storage and touch screens. Some network equipment we could use are resource sharing and monitoring students activity. Some computer equipment we could use are hardware, trackball, joystick, stylus, LCD screens, pixel and resolution.
A new Web 2.0 tool that I have been hearing a lot of and have personally seen in action is Class Dojo. This is a classroom management tool that helps teachers keep students on track. This is a website that teachers can interact with the parents of their students. It allows parents to track the students progress and how they are doing as well as behavior goes. The website has tips for teachers, letter formats that teachers can follow. This is also a website that allows teachers to track student progress, encourage students and also easily interact with parents. You can interact with parents through email on Dojo, instant message, post photos so the parents can see and also post announcements.
Class Dojo is also an online website so there is no need to download any software. This makes it super easy to access for parents because they don't have to download anything to their computer they can just log on and see their child's progress. You can also pull up Dojo on a class smart board (electronic whiteboard) and the students can see how their classmates are doing so they will want to do better. It's a great way to keep students motivated and also keep parents involved. Here's a link so you can check it out! https://www.classdojo.com/#LearnMore
I learned quite a bit from concept mapping. I learned how easily it makes things when you turn information into a concept map. Students will have an easier time viewing the information you are trying to show them. I also see how often concept mapping is used, even in magazines when doing those silly quizzes. The concept mapping project has taught me, once again, how to use an online program that I have never heard of will be greatly help me as a teacher in the future!

4- Standards and the Internet
MAFS.K.CC.1.1- Count to 100 by ones and by tens.
Classification tool: Educational Games
I would use this online program to teach the Standard MAFS.K.CC.1.1 to kindergarteners to teach them to count by ones and tens until they reach 100. The game is "Whack-A-Mole," and how you play is you start out by hitting the mole with the number 1. After this you will hit number 2, then 3, and so on until you reach 100. To teach them to count by tens, in the upper left corner you can change the "Steps of" from 1 to 10's and it will go by tens. For example; your students would hit 10, followed by 20, then 30 and so on. This is a fun way to teach Kindergarteners to count to 100!
While listening to the podcast I realized I follow the ABCDT method. I am always checking the credibility of the author and the types of websites that I am going on. Especially when I am trying to find "academic and credible" sources I pay close attention to what type of website I am on and the author's credibility. Mentioned in the podcast was to check on the stability and the design of the website, which I don't normally do. I've never really looked to see if the design of the website is a certain way.
The web hunt assignment taught me just how limitless the internet is. I never really had a problem finding any of the questions that I had to. When I had to do the virtual tour of Africa, I felt like I was actually on a tour in Africa. The internet has so many resources that I had no idea existed and I really realized that during the web hunt challenge. Now, here are some questions for you my fellow classmates..
1. You want to teach your students about poems for valentine's day. Have them find a website with a valentine's day poem.
2. You want to find a new website to post your students grades on, where they can also turn in assignments. Find it!
GOODLUCK :)

Blog #3
Looking at the ELA technology standards, I would feel comfortable teaching some of these. I would be comfortable teaching W/WHST.8 "Use Multiple Sources," which is where you gather information, avoid plagiarism all while seeing how credible and accurate each sources is. I'd also feel comfortable teaching SL.2 "Integrate and Evaluate," which is where you integrate and evaluate different forms of media such as orally, visually and qualitatively. Lastly, I also think I'd be good at teaching standard W/WHST.2 "Write to explain/inform," I think i'd be good at showing them how to write this way including graphics, figures and showing them the proper way to format.
After reading chapter 9 there are some applications/softwares that I would use with my students. I would use a LMS (Learning Management system) such as Moodle, to keep my classroom organized on an online space. I would use blogs, I'd probably have my students write a blog for my class and also have them read other people's blogs to put their feedback into. I would also use WIKI in my classroom, Wikipedia is a place with endless amounts of information. It is a place that students can really broaden what they've learned and allow themselves to learn a ton of new information. Depending on what grade I teach would also affect what application and softwares I use in my classrooms. For example, If I teach Kindergartener's I would only use Pearson, Dojo and other smaller applications for them to use. On the other hand, if I was teaching high schooler's I would use Moodle, Blackboard, Blogs, Wiki and social media. I would also need to address and talk about digital citizenship concepts in my classroom. Digital citizenship is a really important factor when using the internet and my students need to know the proper way to use it. I need to teach students how to comport themselves with civility while acting within a community, communicate clearly and precisely without rudeness or inappropriate interaction and also to protect their personal identities and those of others.
I have acquired a ton of new Word skills through working on the Newsletter for my class. I learned how to use Columns in a word document, and also how to use word art. I also learned how to put an email hyperlink in my letter so teachers would have a really easy way to contact me through this newsletter. I like how good it looks when you finish it, but I don't like how much time and effort you have to put into getting it perfect. It is actually a lot tricker than it looks to get done. I learned to have a lot of patience when creating things for my classroom. I also learned that a monthly newsletter is really important to keep families informed of what is going on in the classroom each month.
